Salyu - Suisei

Salyu's fourth single, and final single before the release of her first solo album, "Landmark" next month, has kept her trademark sound both as a solo artist and as enigma Lily Chou-Chou well intact.

"Suisei" sounds like what we've come to expect from Salyu - calming voice and mellow but slightly poppy melodies that make us think about life. "Suisei", meaning "comet", is a great song, but quite frankly the b-side, "Taion (body temperature)" outshines the a-side as a throwback to Salyu's days as Lily Chou-Chou. When I first heard the b-side, ALL of the hair on my neck stood on end. The music is softer, and far more haunting. But I can see why this was put as a b-side to "Suisei" - quite frankly, it's far too disturbing to release as an a-side single.

All of this going to prove that Salyu will be here to stay as one of the most ethereal artists of our time.

Final Rating: A-
